History & Lore
Meowth did not originally live in the Alola region. They were imported from another region as gifts for Alolan royalty. Because they were surrounded by extreme luxury and pampered heavily, their personalities shifted completely. They became highly selfish and prideful, leading to their form changing and their typing becoming Dark.
Today, the royal family has fallen into decline, and Alolan Meowth have turned feral, making them as common in Alola as standard Meowth are elsewhere.
Behavior in Battle
Alolan Meowth are highly intelligent and incredibly cunning. They despise having their pride injured or dirt on their coins. If either of these things happen, they will fly into a complete state of hysteria. They utilize dirty tactics and ambush maneuvers to get the upper hand on their opponents.
Evolution
Unlike Kantonian Meowth, which evolves simply by reaching level 28, an Alolan Meowth requires a strong bond with its Trainer. It evolves into Alolan Persian when leveled up with high friendship.
